Working at an aerospace manufacturing company meant there was no down time for us – even in the face of a global pandemic. We are essential, as a federal contractors which furnish products to the United States government, and it was absolutely critical to prevent the spread of Covid-19. As company Safety Director, I developed, coordinated, and implemented safeguards which have thus far prevented any internal spread of the virus – and we plant to keep it that way! Here you can see a biometrics scanning and verification system I researched and deployed. It uses contactless facial recognition and temperature (fever) sensing for access control. This has allowed us to quickly process employee queues which were building up during morning arrivals and is just one of many implementations since the start of the pandemic.
